The second phase of an important electrical upgrade at Ell Hall requires the methodical switching of other select buildings to properly re-connect Ell to our high-voltage distribution. A temporary electrical service from the Curry Student Center will continue supplying power to Ell Hall during this upgrade.
To connect Ell Hall, brief electrical interruptions (approximately 2 – 5 minutes in duration) are required to operate high-voltage switches in each building. This process will affect several buildings either once, or up to three times, depending on the electrical feeder arrangement. The first interruption will affect the following buildings on Tuesday, 10 October 2017, between 5:00 A.M and 6:00 A.M.
Dodge, Hayden, Matthews Arena, and Robinson.
The second interruption will take on Wednesday 11 October 2017, between the hours of 5:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M; the affected buildings to be switched are:
Cullinane, Dodge, Gainsborough Garage, Hayden, Hurtig, Matthews Arena, Mugar, Richards, Robinson, and Snell Library.
The last interruption is needed to re-balance the electrical loading of our distribution. This will take place on Thursday 12 October 2017, between the hours of 5:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M. The affected buildings are:
Dodge, Hayden, Matthews Arena and Robinson, and Snell Library.
You will be notified of future interruptions later this year, as steps are taken to migrate off the temporary electrical feed from Curry Student Center.
