Single-Use Plastics Reduction

Reduce, Reuse, ReNU

Join the pack and help reduce single-use plastics on campus to create a more sustainable future for Northeastern!

      • Reduce your reliance on single-use plastics
      • Reuse by carrying your own reusable water bottle, cutlery, straws, and bags
      • ReNU your commitment to a cleaner, greener campus by inspiring others to join the movement

Plastics are derived from fossil fuels, contribute to pollution, cause adverse health effects and stay in our environment for hundreds of years Northeastern’s Reduce, Reuse, ReNU campaign empowers our community to take simple actions that prevent pollution and drive lasting change.

What We Can Do?

The power to make a difference lies in simple actions you can take every day. Along with changes the university is making, together, we can limit single-use plastics on our campus.

    • Skip the single-use: Bring your own reusable cutlery, straws, containers, and water  bottles. Attend a Hub event to receive a Reduce, Reuse, ReNU bamboo cutlery set.
    • Bring your own bag: Carry a reusable bag for your groceries or takeout.
    • Hydrate like a Husky: Bring your reusable water bottle to campus and avoid single-use bottles. Locate one of our nearly 300 water bottle filling stations on campus using this map.
    • Be an influencer: Share the #ReduceReuseReNU message with friends, classmates, and colleagues.

By signing the Reduce, Reuse, ReNU Pledge, you’re joining a growing community of students, faculty, and staff committed to avoiding single-use plastics.
